Public Relations Strategies of the Chief Executive Election

May 31, 2012
Speakers:Dr James L K Sung (宋立功博士), Academic Coordinator, Public Administration & Management, SCOPE and public policy commentator
Mr Chan King Cheung (陳景祥先生), Chief Editor of Hong Kong Economic Journal
Details:Many people view public relations strategy as critical to the success of any election campaign. Professionalism in image building, voters and public engagement, media relations, crisis management as well as use of social media is important to make a positive influence on the political campaign. It is particularly true with the recent Chief Executive election, which was marked by live debates and town hall forums, scandals and highly politicised media, all calling for unprecedented communication and public relations challenges. In this light, we shall examine how the three candidates’ campaigns first rose to prominence, earned the nomination and one finally winning the election.PRPA is privileged to have Mr Chan King Cheung (陳景祥先生) Chief Editor of Hong Kong Economic Journal & Dr James LK Sung (宋立功博士) Academic Coordinator, Public Administration & Management, SCOPE and public policy commentator to share their insights.
